Build and maintain automation and tooling to scale Starburst's Application Security program, including integrating security checks into CI/CD pipelines.
Develop and support security stack tools (SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets scanning) for faster vulnerability detection, triage, and remediation.
Apply AI to augment security workflows such as triage, analysis, and remediation, and make informed security tradeoffs to improve secure coding standards and documentation.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or equivalent practical experience.
2–4 years of experience in security engineering, software engineering, or related technical roles.
Strong foundation in information security fundamentals, including application vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies (OWASP Top 10, CWE).
Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript (Java and Python preferred); experience with CI/CD tooling, Git workflows, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experienced in building automation and tooling for security tasks, preferably incorporating AI for scaling security efforts.
Comfortable with hands-on engineering work within a product security context, including integrating security into development lifecycles.
Familiar with enterprise B2B software environments, whether self-managed or SaaS, with the ability to collaborate closely with Engineering and Product teams.
