Sr Lead Software Engineer - Java

Drive technology roadmap and high-impact design decisions for distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and data pipelines within Commercial & Investment Bank's Digital Payments Technology.

Lead design, development, troubleshooting, and delivery of secure, scalable backend software and algorithms that meet business and regulatory requirements.

Mentor and grow engineering teams, lead code/design reviews, promote AI-assisted engineering practices, and evaluate emerging technologies for adoption.

10+ years of server-side/backend engineering experience with formal software engineering training or certification.

Hands-on experience with blockchain platforms (Ethereum, Hyperledger Besu/Fabric, Quorum, Corda, or Polygon).

Expertise in backend languages: Java, Go, C++, Scala, or Kotlin; deep knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, event-driven design.

Experience with AWS cloud, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, performance tuning, observability tools, and operating in regulated environments (financial services preferred).

Proven leadership of large-scale engineering programs and mentoring senior engineers in backend distributed systems.

Strong experience integrating AI-assisted software development tools responsibly within engineering workflows.

Background in financial services IT systems or other highly regulated domains with deep understanding of security and compliance requirements.
