Own and manage the full Azure SQL Managed Instance database environment for Dev, QA, and Production including schema design, migrations, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
Implement and maintain database CI/CD pipelines integrated with Azure DevOps, along with security measures, backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring using Azure tooling.
Partner with application developers to optimize data access patterns and respond promptly to data access issues within the same sprint; participate in structured on-call support and incident response with root cause analysis.
8 to 12 years of hands-on experience with SQL Server and strong expertise in Azure SQL Managed Instance or Azure SQL Database.
Advanced T-SQL skills including complex queries, stored procedures, views, triggers, and dynamic SQL.
Experience with database DevOps tools (DACPAC, Flyway, or equivalent) and CI/CD pipeline integration, plus performance tuning techniques like execution plans, index strategy, and wait stats analysis.
Hybrid work model with minimum 3 days per week onsite at Chennai office.
Proven track record engineering scalable, high-traffic transactional database schemas and managing end-to-end database platforms in Azure cloud environments.
Experienced in collaborating closely with .NET development teams for data access optimization and ORM guidance.
Operates with a mindset of engineering automated solutions rather than manual administration; delivers measurable improvements in query performance and database reliability.
