Senior Backend Engineer (L3) - Payments

Own and maintain backend payment flows including initiation, partner routing, state management, and settlement tracking across both API and GUI.

Build and extend partner integrations for new payment corridors and design for transactional correctness and failure cases (idempotency, retries).

Ship end-to-end payment features including backend and dashboard views; instrument payment success, partner latency, and stuck-payment detection.

5–7 years experience building backend production systems with strong distributed systems skills.

Payments or fintech background with experience in live payment or money path systems (e.g., payment gateways, PSPs, neobanks).

Expertise in TypeScript and Node.js, plus strong PostgreSQL data modeling and query skills.

Working frontend proficiency with React/Next.js for building GUI surfaces on own APIs.

Experienced in complex payment ecosystem backend engineering with strong ownership of correctness under failure conditions.

Capable of independent problem scoping and high-agency execution, including collaboration with product and operations teams.

Skilled mentor for junior engineers and contributes to engineering excellence and tech debt management.
