Mid-level metro backend role with common skills and moderate specialization yields medium applicant competition.
Strong distributed-systems, Go, and Kubernetes requirements limit transferability across industries.
Explicit 5–9 years plus mandatory Go, distributed-systems, and DB/Kubernetes expertise makes shortlisting highly strict.

Own and develop the core backend control-plane services powering Kubogent, including API design, durable workflow state, multi-tenant authorization, and event backbone infrastructure.
Design and maintain asynchronous, distributed systems with reliability features such as retries, idempotency, backoff, failure recovery, and high availability.
Define and enforce system boundaries among PostgreSQL, Kubernetes resources, and caches while ensuring data persistence quality, platform observability, and operational safety.
5+ years experience building production backend or distributed systems, preferably in infrastructure or stateful enterprise SaaS systems.
Strong proficiency in Go with concurrency, networking, testing, and production-grade error handling.
Strong fundamentals in distributed systems concepts (idempotency, retries, eventual consistency, leases, leader election) and relational databases (PostgreSQL schema design, transactions, indexing, migrations).
Experience designing robust REST APIs with versioning, pagination, filtering, authorization, and compatibility guarantees.
Experienced in complex distributed control planes or infrastructure products with focus on asynchronous long-running workflows and partial failure handling.
Practiced in setting architecture and backend engineering standards, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration including Kubernetes engineers.
Comfortable designing systems that encode operational knowledge into product behavior for reliability and observability, including understanding Kubernetes controllers, RBAC, and multi-tenant security models.
