Own and lead end-to-end freight accounting operations including clearing, accrual, and reconciliation in SAP, ensuring adherence to close timelines, GAAP, and SOX controls.
Drive governance, issue resolution, and continuous improvement by partnering with Transportation, Accounts Payable, RTR/Corporate Accounting, and IT/Master Data to reduce aged balances and prevent posting errors.
Provide leadership to the freight accounting team with responsibility for work allocation, coaching, quality control, and performance management against SLAs.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent practical experience; MBA/CPA/CMA is a plus.
10+ years of progressive experience in GL accounting and costing operations, preferably in RTR/AP/Supply Chain Accounting, with strong period close and balance sheet reconciliation ownership.
Strong SAP experience (FI/CO, MM modules), including freight payment system exposure preferred.
Proven team or workstream leadership experience, ideally within a GBS/shared services environment, with control and SOX/internal audit compliance experience.
Experienced in managing end-to-end accounting processes and leading cross-functional teams with a focus on freight accounting operations.
Demonstrates a control-focused mindset with proven ability to maintain audit-ready documentation and operationalize SOX compliance in a deadline-driven environment.
Skilled in stakeholder management across transportation, accounts payable, RTR, and IT functions to drive issue resolution and continuous process improvements.
