Senior Software Engineer- Java Backend, Officer

Design, develop, test, and debug large and complex enterprise investment management software solutions, including core frameworks critical to Charles River’s system operation.

Deliver complex platform solutions into production within a microservices and cloud environment, ensuring technical excellence and high-quality end products through code reviews, unit tests, and automation.

Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to create simple, sustainable software solutions and drive cross-team coordination for project completion.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field; Master's degree strongly preferred.

Minimum 9 years of professional experience in software engineering; at least 3 years in financial services domains like Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance, Post-Trade, IBOR, or Wealth Management preferred.

Proficient in Java and Spring Boot microservices with experience in cloud-native service development; familiarity with Kubernetes, Kafka, and relational databases (Postgres SQL preferred).

Experience working with Agile development methodologies (minimum 3 years).

Senior-level engineer comfortable driving technical design and delivering complex platform software in a regulated, financial services environment.

Experienced with microservice architectures, cloud deployments (preferably Azure), and messaging systems like Kafka, capable of solving high complexity business and technical problems.

Able to lead in Agile teams, collaborate across functions, and translate complex requirements into maintainable and testable code solutions.
