About This Role

Own end-to-end architecture and scalability of backend systems serving millions of users across ASEAN.

Lead high-impact technical decisions, architecture reviews, and set engineering standards across backend teams.

Mentor senior engineers and partner cross-functionally to align technical roadmaps with business and product goals.

Minimum Requirements

10-18 years backend engineering experience with at least 2+ years in principal or staff engineer role.

Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures (GCP/AWS/Azure), microservices, and data platforms.

Strong proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) or similar backend languages (Go, Python, Node.js) and databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB).

Experience with authentication protocols (OAuth2, OIDC), event systems (Kafka, GCP PubSub), and observability tools (OpenTelemetry).

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experienced leader comfortable driving architecture, design trade-offs and setting cross-team technical standards in large-scale distributed backend systems.

Strong background in cloud-native, microservices, and data platform technologies aligned with enterprise-scale environments.

Startup experience and demonstrated thought leadership through papers, talks, patents, or open source contributions is a strong plus.
