Senior / Lead Platform Forward Deployed Engineer - Cogentiq I2C

Own and manage the deployment architecture for client installations from environment readiness through hypercare, including release sequencing, environment topology, and validation sign-off.

Set and enforce engineering standards for idempotent, rerunnable deployments with robust error handling and environment-variable-driven parameterisation consistent across platforms.

Handle incident command during deployments, negotiate client IT governance constraints, and maintain the deployment playbook to enable efficient future deployments.

6+ years in data platform or deployment engineering, with at least 2 years deploying into environments not controlled by you (client tenancies or regulated environments).

Strong expertise in Azure Databricks (Asset Bundles, workflows, Unity Catalog, cluster management, CLI automation).

Proficient in Python and SQL, with ability to assess pipeline code quality (idempotency, failure behaviour, configuration hygiene).

Production experience with PostgreSQL, along with Git-based CI/CD release flows, semantic versioning, and artefact repository management.

Experienced deploying complex data platforms into client-regulated environments with governance and security constraints.

Technically strong in advanced Azure Databricks architecture, automation, and orchestration across multi-technology stacks.

Able to engage directly and effectively with client IT and finance stakeholders to negotiate infrastructure and governance decisions without escalation.
