Mid-level QA SDET title, metro location, and known employer increases applicant density despite niche DPI specialization.
Highly specialized DPI, packet-level and network-security skills reduce cross-industry transferability.
Mandatory 3+ years, networking/security domain experience, and Python plus DPI tooling makes filters stringent.

Design, develop, and execute automated test cases for Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) engines and secure network traffic inspection across layers L2–L7.
Test and simulate complex network behaviors including TLS/SSL traffic inspection, malformed packets, evasive traffic, and security vulnerabilities like DNS tunneling and spoofing.
Collaborate with firmware developers to validate access control logic; leverage and extend DPI tools such as nDPI, Suricata, and Zeek for custom validation.
3+ years of experience as SDET, Security QA Engineer, or related role in networking/security domains.
Strong programming and scripting skills in Python for test automation and tooling.
In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, TLS, HTTP/HTTPS, NAT, VPNs, tunneling protocols, firewall behavior, and DPI concepts.
This is an in-office role located in Hyderabad, India.
Experienced in hands-on packet sniffing and PCAP analysis using tools like Wireshark with strong debugging capabilities to identify design flaws and performance issues.
Familiarity with DPI tools (nDPI, Suricata) and threat simulation techniques (e.g., MITM methods) to enhance network security testing.
Background in testing IoT, Wi-Fi edge devices, or cloud-native networking products, with a solid understanding of cybersecurity and network traffic classification.
