Senior Staff Engineer - Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP)

Lead architecture and design of Nutanix Kubernetes Platform components focusing on multi-tenancy, resilience, and managing tens of thousands of clusters at fleet scale.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a distributed team of 15-20 engineers, ensuring high standards via design reviews and coding excellence.

Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management and Hybrid Cloud teams to translate business goals into technical roadmaps and represent Nutanix in CNCF open-source communities.

15-20+ years of software development experience with substantial experience architecting large-scale distributed systems.

Proficiency in Go, Python, or Java programming languages.

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science or related field.

Work arrangement: Hybrid with expectation to work onsite minimum 3 days per week in applicable locations including Bangalore, Pune, and other listed cities.

Experienced in cloud-native systems, Docker/containers, and control plane management at scale.

Strong systems thinking ability with capacity to master new technology stacks quickly, ideally with Kubernetes internal knowledge.

Demonstrated capability to navigate ambiguity, drive cross-team consensus, and balance long-term innovation with short-term trade-offs.
