Manage and provide Level 3 production support for multiple high-volume relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server) in on-premises and AWS cloud environments.
Install, configure, upgrade, migrate, patch databases, and design disaster recovery and monitoring strategies to ensure uptime and performance.
Serve as technical expert and primary point of contact for database issues, collaborate cross-functionally, automate administration tasks using Unix shell scripts, and define service levels and project milestones.
10+ years of experience supporting and managing large multi-terabyte production databases with advanced database management skills including SQL tuning and backup/recovery.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Data Engineering.
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server in both on-prem and AWS cloud settings, including AWS RDS, Aurora, Cloud Watch.
Must participate in 24x7 on-call DBA rotation (approx. one week per month).
Experienced in end-to-end database lifecycle management in hybrid (on-premises and cloud) environments, including migrations with minimal downtime.
Strong problem solver with ability to lead large complex database projects and communicate technical guidance effectively.
Familiar with automation (Unix shell scripting, CI/CD tools), monitoring tools (Splunk), data warehousing concepts, and infrastructure management including server, storage, and network.
