Tier-1 brand, mid-level role in a metro and generalist software title increases competition.
Platform engineering requires specific Kubernetes and cloud experience, moderately limiting cross-industry transferability.
Mandatory 5+ years, production Kubernetes, Go and hyperscaler experience make shortlisting highly strict.

Design, build, and operate Kubernetes platform components and core subsystems, owning defined areas end to end.
Write and review Go code for controllers, operators, platform services, and automation, delivering production-ready solutions from open design problems.
Operate built solutions including on-call duties, incident investigation, and collaboration with dependent teams; work under compliance constraints such as FedRAMP.
5+ years of experience building production software with hands-on experience running and debugging Kubernetes workloads.
Experience designing and owning Kubernetes infrastructure or platform components in production, not just configuring or consuming.
Proficient programming skills in Go or strong systems programming background with willingness to primarily use Go.
Working experience with at least one major hyperscaler (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including knowledge of compute, networking, and IAM primitives.
Operates independently to take loosely defined problems to production-ready solutions in Kubernetes platform engineering.
Strong practical knowledge of Kubernetes ecosystem including controllers, operators, containers, CI/CD, GitOps, and infrastructure-as-code.
Demonstrates understanding of AI's integration into platform engineering, leveraging AI-powered tooling or automation to improve workflows and infrastructure management.
