Niche CAE skillset reduces applicants despite a metro location and mid-level title.
High because CAE solver validation and nonlinear FEA expertise are highly domain-specific and non-transferable.
High due to explicit 3+ years, PhD preference, and mandatory CAE/FEA expertise.

Design and implement high-value benchmark validation strategies for advanced nonlinear CAE simulation capabilities including contact, large deformation, and coupled thermal-mechanical workflows.
Translate complex industrial application problems into practical, high-fidelity models and automate test cases for repeated, efficient solver validation with clear quality metrics.
Collaborate with developers, product teams, and QA to identify issues, enhance testability, and support reliable software releases alongside preparing detailed validation reports and recommendations.
Ph.D. in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Applied Mechanics, or closely related field.
3+ years of hands-on experience in CAE/FEA, specializing in nonlinear statics and dynamics.
Strong expertise in nonlinear finite element analysis covering geometric, material, and contact nonlinearities.
Practical experience with validation tools such as Nastran, Marc, Abaqus and associated pre/post processors (e.g., HyperMesh, ANSA, Patran).
Demonstrated record of technical publications or presentations related to CAE/FEA nonlinear simulation and validation.
Proven ability to solve complex nonlinear simulation convergence, modeling, or validation challenges.
Experience with Python scripting and AI techniques to enhance validation workflows, and communicates complex technical concepts clearly to cross-functional teams.
