Develop, maintain, and enhance the Content Filtering Service (CFS) client module within SonicOS firmware for SonicWall firewall appliances.
Own implementation of the binary UDP protocol between firewalls and CFS rating servers, ensuring protocol correctness and version compatibility.
Ensure firmware upgrade/migration paths are atomic and failure-safe; improve multi-blade cache synchronization reliability across control and data planes.
Expert-level proficiency in Embedded C (manual memory management, pointer arithmetic, systems design) with multicore concurrency primitives (locks, atomic ops).
Deep kernel-level networking knowledge including TCP/UDP processing, flow cache, and connection tracking in firewall dataplane context.
Strong IPv4 and IPv6 programming experience covering all code paths; experience with network testing/debug tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, GDB.
Work Experience Required: Minimum 8 years with Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years with Master’s degree; or PhD with 3 years; Degree in CS, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Experienced working on firmware or security appliance software especially related to networking and firewalls.
Capable of handling complex C codebases and concurrency across multi-core and multi-blade hardware architectures.
Comfortable collaborating asynchronously with distributed international teams and documenting low-level system designs.
