Senior SW Engineer - SRE, Production Support, Linux, Networking, CI/CD

Maximize system availability and reliability of Visa Cloud Platform services by proactively and reactively managing incidents and providing robust technical support and automation.

Investigate and resolve platform user and reliability issues using advanced troubleshooting techniques, focusing on root cause analysis.

Collaborate with software and systems engineers to ensure high stability and performance of mission critical services, participating in 24/7/365 operations with shift and on-call support.

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.

5+ years’ experience in application or production support for high availability or critical platforms/applications.

Hands-on experience with Linux and Windows systems, distributed computing, networking technologies (DNS, TCP/IP, SSL, Load Balancing), virtualization, CI/CD, container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and scripting (Shell, PowerShell).

Ability to work in a hybrid model with at least 3 days onsite as per hiring manager's requirements; must support 24/7/365 operations with shift and on-call duties.

Experienced in managing full application stacks, from OS through custom applications, in a production-critical environment.

Proficient in using monitoring and alerting tools such as Grafana and Prometheus, and familiar with relational and NoSQL databases and ITIL disciplines (Event, Incident, Problem, Change management).

Detail-oriented with a focus on documentation and a proactive approach to identifying and fixing issues under high-availability, mission-critical conditions.
